MurphGuide.com is proud to be a sponsor of the 2008 Gotham Girls Roller Derby...
Gotham Girls Roller Derby Announces 2008 Season Schedule

Gotham Girls Roller Derby is rolling out its 2008 Regular Season Schedule, which runs from May 10th to October 25th, featuring New York City's only all-female roller derby league. Get ready for the fastest, hardest, most intense roller derby action ever seen in NYC, as the Queens of Pain, Brooklyn Bombshells, Manhattan Mayhem, and Bronx Gridlock prepare to duke it out on the track.
Last year, fans were psyched to see the two-year-old Bronx Gridlock snatch the championship title from two-time champs, Queens of Pain, in the last two minutes of the season-closing game. If you think the Queens are going to let the Gridlock have the title again this year without a fight, you've got another thing coming!
The Manhattan Mayhem and the Brooklyn Bombshells are also eager to enter the fray, unleashing some ferocious moves of their own and proving why they deserve to be contenders this season. All four teams are joined by twelve new rookies and transfers, and they have been gearing up at the league's practice space in the off-season - now they're ready to show off and throw down!

2008 Regular Season Intra-League Bout Schedule:
Saturday, June 7: Bronx Gridlock vs. Brooklyn Bombshells
Saturday, June 28: Queens of Pain vs. Brooklyn Bombshells
Saturday, July 26: Manhattan Mayhem vs. Bronx Gridlock
Saturday, August 16: Queens of Pain vs. Bronx Gridlock
Friday, September 12: Brooklyn Bombshells vs. Manhattan Mayhem
Saturday, September 27: Post-Season Showdown
Saturday, October 25: Championship Bout

After the games, join GGRD at Manitoba's to toast victory or drown defeat with your favorite derby darlings.

About GGRD and the national Roller Derby phenomenon:
Founded in 2003, GGRD has led the nation-wide charge to bring the American-born sport of Roller Derby back to the limelight. Leagues around the country have taken the high-speed athleticism and hard-hitting action of derby past, and added a healthy dose of punk rock attitude to create this new wave of Roller Derby.
