Appeared it was reaching for something, but not quite achieving
it. Music less than desirable. Crowd was decent, most appearing
to be in groups of four or more. Nice exposed brick walls. - A.R.
While it's way downtown on 1st and 1st, this dark bar has a
energy you can feel inside it. Maybe its the live DJ spinning the
some of the best hip-hop music I've heard in a while on the main
floor, or the brightly colored mosaic walls downstairs with
another DJ spinning and a small bar for the crowd down there. The
service is a little slow but if you can get one of your friends
to get the drinks you can relax on one of the many plush comfy
couches this bar has to offer... - D.M.
There is a cool new party on Tuesdays. The DJ's play old
school everything. Not as crowded as the weekends. A nice
relaxing night with all the hits of the past. And its FREE too.
(you need ID to get in). I love the soft light from all the
candles (very intimate) - R.B.

Comments - What a
well kept secret this place is. Long bar, lounge in the back
& the most beautiful bar bathroom I've ever seen. - J.M.
One of the many new spots that is revitalizing the Hell's Kitchen
nightlife scene. The dark, candlelit lounge area in the rear is
quite cozy. The bathroom here is nicer than in many people's
homes! Who would ever expect to see a chandelier in a the
bathroom of a Hell's Kitchen bar? - S.M.
Still on an out-of-the-way stretch of 10th Ave. (although maybe
not for much longer), this place has some of the best decor I've
seen. Be sure to check out the ceiling above the bar as well as
the private booths in the back. During the traditional
Happy Hour, this place can feel deserted, but a little later at
night you can find anything from trendier locals to post-theater
crowd to lesbian make-out sessions. Be sure to order one of
the oddly compelling blue drinks they serve in a martini glass. -
J.S.L.
This dark, cozy little bar tucked between 45th and 46th Streets
on 10th Avenue is great for a post-show drink or a long sit with
friends over multiple cocktails. The staff is friendly (though
service can be very slow after 10:30 P.M.) most nights when the
place gets jumping, and the bathrooms are probably the cleanest
you'll find in New York short of a 5-star hotel. The bar is, over
all, 80% gay, and mostly gay men, although the stray straight or
lesbian couple stumbles upon the scene now and then. There is
very little attitude to be had here, a refreshing change. - A.Y.
