Absolutely gorgeous bar/restaurant, I have already been recommending it to friends. -

Just loved the friendly, cheerful atmosphere and homey feeling. The stained glass windows are a great touch, and the food is delicious. Will definitely go back again! - C.M.A.

bar is all those things that others can only aspire to - it's
historical ( c.1870s ), it's loaded with great neighborhood
regulars, the bartenders - especially George on the weekends -
are totally without pretension, and the only thing more delicious
than the bar food from the tiny kitchen is the fresh tapped beer
you'll wash the mess down with. And where else can you find those
old-fashioned tub sinks in the bathroom that are as deep as the
Hudson where you can splash some cold water on your mug before
you go out and tackle your umpteenth Guinness? - M.D.
I would add that this is also the Tuesday
after work hangout of the New York Motorcycle Club, and that if
you're interested in learning to ride, looking for a bike, or
just want to get in on the MC stuff, this is a very nice place to
hang. The NYMC group are very friendly and, if you're the same,
will share tons of local knowledge about biking in the NYC area.
Like many others, I've received more good advice here than
through the mags or talking to people at dealerships, etc. And
great beer and nice, nice people. - N.43

East Village bar draws intoxicants of all ages. It features a TV,
a jukebox, a pool table, darts, video games, high-top bar tables,
brick walls, outdoor seating, and a low ceiling. There is
also a separate dining room. The prices are cheap at happy hour and the service is good. The
unisex bathrooms are one-at-a-time. - T.K.
I frequent this bar for the pool table and jukebox. Cheap Sierra
Nevada, too. -B.C.

This bar is so excellent. Swanky, artsy bar on the UWS.
Reasonable prices, great atmosphere. A total escape from the
neighborhood. Great decor, beautiful people, funky world mix of
music. Decked out with original sculptures by a local artist and
staffed by very sexy bartenders. They have just opened, so get
them while they are still fresh! - R.M.
This bar is a mix of all individuals (age/races/music appreciation). They have live bands
Tuesday-Thursday. The staff is great and attentive. The woman are hot. People are friendly.

This is a nice place to go for drink and a burger
on weeknights and early on weekends. It gets obnoxiously crowded
on Friday and Saturday nights. It can be quite a challenge to get
the bartenders' attention when it's crowded. It seems to draw a
twentysomething clientele. There is usually a line to get in the place on Fridays and Saturdays after 10pm. The DJ really cranks up
the music. There's often broken glass all over the floor. Lines
form for the bathrooms when it's crowded. Closing time in
Manasquan is 2am. Cabs are abundant. - T.K.
Good-Looking 25-35 year old Jersey Shore partyers who haven't hooked up yet by midnight flock to this large crowded Manasquan bar/restaurant to continue drinking until the
2am closing. Although the lines can be very long, with its good party music and big drinks, the bar is a major pick-up scene for the yuppie-types that crowd into this place. -
L.M.
Some of the biggest and coldest drinks flow to excess at this late night Shore weekend bar. It has an intense pick up scene, that can turn off those who aren't as drunk or single as everyone else who comes to the bar. The bartenders seem to expertly handle the
chaos of so many intoxicated and loud professional types crammed into this
Manasquan pub. - J.S.

This small Mexican cantina located on the Bell Boulevard strip opened in Oct.
2002. The bar area is small. The bartenders seem to be inexperienced. The prices are reasonable. The
"patio" in the back is also very small. I assume that there is another dining room upstairs. The bathrooms are adequate. It
is nothing to write home about. It will probably serve as an overflow from its next door neighbor. the Crazy Moose Saloon. Let's see how long it lasts. -

Excellent
after-work spot in spring and summer. The outdoor patios are
perfect! - J.D.
Home of killer margaritas that some swear is "laced with
something". That just means that everybody is having a good
time here. 2 sides, Texas (north) and Mexico (south). Can cross
the border through kitchen with help of border patrol. "Ola,
ola!" must be the code word in the kitchen to indicate that
customers are in the kitchen because all the kitchen help say it
as you walk through. Either that, or the kitchen help is very
friendly. Fine Tex-Mex food. Great after work crowd, including
the Madison Ave. and NYU Medical crowds. Outdoor patio during
warm weather is also extremely popular. - S.M.
Another outdoor fave of everyone in the city - mostly recently
graduated SUNY chicks drinking strong, $7 margaritas and who
don't mind being packed into a small space like a sardine. - S.A.
Obviously the bathroom gets my highest rating as the service in
this bar is wretched. Figure waiting on line for a good ten
minutes before you get your "happy hour" priced
margarita (at a not so happy $8 a pop). Also be prepared to
come face to face with some not-so good-looking men. sorry
boys. A.F.F

Comments - Everyone
in this bar had a serious problem. It's almost as if people
walk into this place from a well-hidden divorce court across the
street. The old lady at the end of the bar was decked out
head-to-toe in garish costume jewelry, and grinded her teeth
rhythmically with the Janis Joplin and Neil Diamond tunes blaring
out of the jukebox. The woman sitting next to me? An
aging eighties hipster, complete with a tattered Pretenders shirt
that lazily exposed a bony shoulder. One woman was so drunk
that she bounced around the bar with a broomstick between her
legs singing "Living on a Prayer." Oh yeah, one
last thing: the drinks were dirt cheap... three Budweiser drafts
for a measly six bucks. I don't suppose Hell's Kitchen can
do much better than this. Of course, there's always Otis. -
M.B.
This is a small, well lit, dingy bar which reminds you that the
old Hell's Kitchen is not completely gone. It draws an
eclectic mix of down-on-their-luck people. It features several
TVs, a jukebox, video games, munchies on the bar, high ceilings
with fans, high-top bar tables, and yellow walls. The decor is
bland and the little space is not used efficiently. The prices
are reasonable and the service
is decent. The bathrooms are one-at-a-time. - T.K.
This bar looks like it's been lurking around Hell's Kitchen for a long, long
time. Who would guess it appeared only a few years back after the pizza parlor in the space folded. Nevertheless, it reminds one of the bar in
"The Ice Man Cometh", more for your fellow patrons than anything else. If you're broke and need a cheap pint, show up, because you never know who you'll find, but know that it'll be a unique experience. -
M.W.
Draws an eclectic crowd. Must be where all the pimps go to pass the time while they wait.
Not worth the time. - A.S.

- No
sign in front, except for the tell-tale Guinness sign, beckoning
in the Irish of the East Village. Once inside, you will see a
nicely decorated long room which betrays the ruggedness of the
neighborhood outside. A long bar up front with wooden tables in
the rear. The friendly bartenders will pour you a good pint. -
S.M.
Classy for your parents, cool for you. - M.M.
Fun place, lively, unusually friendly customers and bartenders.
If you're lucky enough to stop by when they are having their
pumpkin carving contest for Halloween or their Christmas Caroling
event you will be blown away by their take on the
holidays. - E.J.
Totally chilled neighborhood bar. All kinds of folks, but as with
most places too crowded on weekend nights - R.P.

This is a quiet, small Irish pub which seems to
draw an older, local clientele. The term 'old man bar' fits. It
features an oak bar, booths, (all seats have red vinyl padding),
a TV, a jukebox (played low), and a low ceiling. The
prices are reasonable. The
service is good and they serve good pub food. The bathrooms are
adequate.
It's not very exciting. - T.K.

Erin's Rose is new and I admit it may just still
be getting it's feet wet. The owners of the place have done fine
work on other such establishments such as The Kilmegan and
Riordan's. The location is not very promising, in my humble
opinion. The walls are bear and the staff could do well to be a
bit more outgoing, especially in a new bar that thus far is not
exactly booming with much to keep a crowd coming back for more. -

Great sports atmosphere. Incredible nachos!! If you come
to eat, request the screening room (it's got great views of the
two incredibly large screen TVs and your own personal TV at the table). The bathrooms have TVs mounted in the walls so you can do
your stuff and watch Sportscenter at the same time. Only drawback
are all the tourists. - M.M.
Tourist trap! Which means it's pricey, but also has very good bathrooms. With so many screens you can watch just about any game you desire and the excellent service means you won't miss any of the action. But unless you are intent on watching a specific game, then there are plenty of cheaper bars in the neighborhood. - W.W.

Comments - This is
an elegant basement club with two barrooms, two lounges, and lots
of nooks and crannies. Curtains separate the rooms. The DJ spins
disco era tunes. There is live music most nights. It features a
fireplace, couches, high-top bar tables, partially exposed brick
walls, and a low ceiling. The prices are reasonable for a club. The beer selection is
somewhat limited. It gets very crowded and seems to draw a good,
hip, thirtysomething clientele. The bartenders are friendly and
efficient. -T.K.
I went on a Friday, and had a good time, but there was a guy
there who was sporting a mullet haircut. It was a curly mullet to make matters worse. A little yuppie, but overall a
decent time. Go with people you like and you will have a
good time. - J.B.
Not a bad place. The decor is pretty cool and the bartenders were
nice and efficient. The crowd left a little something to be
desired. A lot of older people were there ("older"
being 30+) and the general attitude outside of our group of
friends was kind of blasé. More of a mellow hangout than a party
spot. - L.T.
This place is cool, despite yuppie heaven, you get a pretty
diverse crowd, hip hop and r&b on Friday and Saturday nights,
live jazz and blues during the weekdays. I say the place is a
good hang, the bartenders are cool and some of the waitresses are
beautiful (I liked the black one with the J-lo body!!!!) Overall,
a good place to spend a Friday or Saturday night if you don't
want to do the "club thing". Thumbs up! - N.T.

Comments - Nice
place, if you like waiting two hours only to have the $25 cover
arbitrarily bumped to 30, if you like paying ten bucks for an ice
tea the size of a golf ball, if you feel comfortable in a room
with three hundred people, every last one of them in their own
little ecstasy induced world, deafening music and bouncers who
will drop-kick you onto 56th St. if you look at them the wrong
way. This is first and foremost a dance club and not a bar. If
you come here for the drinks, welcome to New York. The people are
incredibly obnoxious,
the atmosphere was overbearing and claustrophobic. On a final note, I should have known what I was getting
into. I consider being frisked before going into a bar a bad
omen. Yes, they frisk everyone at the door (of course, after
you've paid the cover). I don't ever want to be frisked again
unless it precedes prison or some kind of erotic scenario. - A.E.
Dopest club ever. Hottest music, great people, no scummy people,
very classy, great place to go if youre looking for a good
time. Expect to spend a lot of bills on the night. - W.D.
Awesome!!! - B.K.
I'm an Irish lad over in NYC for four months last year and this
place did impress me the most, especially on a Friday. Good luck
! - J.S.
Not worth the wait and the money. - D.J.
We got right in and was supposed to be free, but they said the
VIP card we had was not good for Saturday night even though it
was Saturday night! I did like the different colored rooms
although they could work on their air conditioning problem: two
of the rooms had NONE. We paid three different prices for the
same mixed drinks depending on what room you were in!! The
rooftop was so dirty with food ALL OVER the place. The
bathrooms....well lets not go there!!! - L.L.
This place is usually either too crowded or not crowded enough.
If a true dance club is where you want to go then this is it.
Drugs are everywhere, which is either good or bad depending on
your preferences. The bathrooms are insanely crowded on a good
night, and the atmosphere is like any other huge dance place.
Sometimes they put on good shows in the main room. - K.W.
Exit is definitely The club to party at. The music is great. The
people are beautiful. Security wise it is also safe. It is a
great place to have fun. - N.K.
I go to NY frequently to party, and Exit is by far the best dance
club on the east coast. Since it was remodeled there is plenty of
dance space, couches, and interesting light shows to entertain
you. I love the balconies and the bar on the roof. The sound
system is great. I highly recommend going there when you want to
have a night (or morning) that will be out of this world. - A.M.
Exit has the nicest decor I have seen (and I have been to almost
every club in NYC) but there is just too many people...and Ii
stress that: TOO MANY PEOPLE. And the bathrooms are horrible! I
would suggest this club to people who don't mind crowds and
filth. - A.G.
Exit was one of the best clubs I have been to. It was fun and the guys were great.
I will come back to that club soon. - E.N.
This bar is an example of the NYC social scene gone to hell: Lines out the door...Being violated by
boorish bouncers...Being charged outrageous cover charges to see billed DJ's that may or may not spin. And that is before you even get in the door. Once in you can deal with drink prices that are through the roof, drugged out freaks with no respect for personal space and
under-covers eyeing your every move. Maybe its the evolution of the club scene.
But then, I'll stick to the small venues and neighborhood bars. This place is hard to swallow and leaves a bad taste in your
mouth. - P.S.D.
A lot of fun. - M.E.
This place is targeted for the good looking, dumb, wannabe thugs on drugs. It sells itself like the club of NY but only thing NY about it is the prices and size. I see all these wannabes on ecstasy running around and getting stupid like Yankee
Stadium after the World Series. The only reason why I give a five for service is because the ladies by the couch are relentless to buy you a drink. -
P.D.
I have seen Exit go through it's ups and downs over the years. I am not a drugged out party person... Just a person that likes to go out with a group of friends and have an amazing time.. Exit is the biggest club in NYC....by no means is it ever
empty. If it has a crowd of 1800 people it looks empty! I would highly recommend going
there...at least to see. Go with a group of friends. The music is great,
some of the best house in the world. If you like to dance, this is the place to be. Anyone and everyone fits into
Exit. It is a place that makes NYC what it is: a place for everyone,.so go and have a blast... - D.M.
